Kimberly Brown, DPT, CLT
Kim earned her Bachelor’s degree from Mount St. Mary’s University, Emmitsburg and pursued her education further and
obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in 2010.
Kim is a licensed physical therapist that comes to this practice with over 10 years’ experience. Prior to working in Frederick, she worked at Valley Health Winchester Rehab Center where she earned her STARS (survivorship training and rehabilitation) certification when the hospital became an accredited cancer center. While there, she also became a Klose certified lymphedema therapist. She was also an adjunct faculty at Shenandoah University and was able to mentor physical therapy students as a clinical instructor in Guatemala.
After moving to the Frederick area, she served the area by increasing her oncology rehab expertise and became specialized in breast cancer rehabilitation. She is also one of the few qualified head and neck cancer lymphedema therapists in the area. Kim is very passionate about treating patients with cancer. She helps patients along their cancer care continuum. These include care during and after radiation, post surgery, and chemotherapy. Kim also helps cancer survivors with improving muscle strength, gait, balance, and fall prevention.
Kim is also a Level 1 pelvic floor therapist and is able to use the information to help her better evaluate patients that have been impacted by cancer treatment and struggle with incontinence. This unique combination allows her to see a patient for multiple issues and can provide a continuity of therapy for patients with comorbidities enabling a quicker transition to their routine life.
